That s all I need, Frankie said with a happy sigh. He kissed the
top of his mate s head. We should get up. You need to feed.
Jay whined and lifted his head. Cold blood?
Frankie couldn t help a chuckle, reaching up to stroke his
fingertips down Jay s nose.
What are you doing? Jay said, pulling back but smiling.
Your nose wrinkles up when you re disgusted like that. It s cute.
 Cute? Jay looked doubtful.
Very. Now come on, let s get up and have a quick shower.
Jay stood up and frowned at him. You mean, together?
Well, yeah. That s okay isn t it?
I guess. I just never thought about it before.

Let s go, then. Frankie jumped up off the bed and took his hand,
dragging him to the bathroom he usually had to share with Mikey and
Ollie. He switched on the shower, tugged his lover under the hot
water, and wrapped his arms around him. Jay pulled him closer and
bent his head to nuzzle Frankie s hair.
 This is nice, Jay murmured.
Yeah it is. Frankie sighed, rubbing his cheek against the skin of
his lover s chest. Let s just rinse though, I want you to feed properly
today.
So let me feed from a person.
Frankie stiffened with worry and a touch of fear. His mate had
been so much less aggressive, he d almost forgotten Jay s rogue
nature. Wild, vicious, uncontrollable killer without conscience just
didn t fit what he knew, truly knew, about his mate. But still, he
couldn t risk letting Jay anywhere near a human.
No, I don t think that s a good idea.
Why not? Come on, Frankie, you could use some fresh blood,
too.
I could, yes, but I ve just been in jail on suspicion of murder. The
last thing we need is to draw attention to ourselves.
Right. Jay pulled back and rinsed himself off. He got out of the
shower, grabbed a towel, and walked out of the bathroom.
Jay Frankie stopped and sighed, chin dropping to his chest.
His mate would have felt his doubt and anxiety, and that was going to
set them right back again. He got out of the shower and wrapped a
towel round his waist, hurrying back into his room. His mate had
already gone, so he dried off quickly and dragged his clothes on.
Running downstairs, he came to an abrupt halt in the kitchen doorway
and leaned against the frame. He watched his mate taking six cups
from the cupboard, as the smell of coffee filled the air.
 Jay, I&
Sit down, Jay said softly. Blinking uncertainly, Frankie went to
sit at the kitchen table. He watched his lover pour five cups of coffee,

putting them on the table as they were joined by the other four.
Thank you, Jay, that s very kind of you, Zacky said.
Yeah, thanks, Matt said gruffly. And uh, yeah, sorry about
before.
Jay nodded and almost smiled, moving to the fridge to get a bag
of blood. He opened the bag and poured some blood into Frankie s
coffee.
Thank you, Frankie whispered, staring uncertainly at his mate.
He had no clue what was going on. Jay seemed oddly lacking in
emotion, which made him hard to read.
Oh no. You haven t taught Jay your disgusting habit, have you?
Tyler exclaimed.
No, he thinks it s gross, Frankie said, unable to help grinning at
his alpha.
That s a relief. Tyler looked up and frowned at Jay, then raised
an eyebrow at Frankie. What s going on?
Frankie looked at his mate who had yet to pour himself a cup and
was standing near the table, hands behind his back and head bowed.
Caro? Aren t you going to join us? he asked softly.
Jay looked up and stared at him, eyes a little wide, full of anxiety.
 What do you mean?
Frankie stood up and took Jay s hand, pulling him to the table. He
moved the chair next to his so that Jay could sit down.
 Frankie?
 Sit down, caro, please.
 But I&
You don t have to, but we d all like it if you d join us.
Jay swallowed loudly in the silence of the kitchen, four pairs of
eyes on them both, full of shock. Slowly, Jay moved, sitting down and
avoiding the gazes of the others.
Thank you, Frankie said quietly. He moved to the counter and
poured another cup of coffee, carrying it over to his mate.
What are you doing? Jay gasped. I can t.

Of course you can, Tyler said, before Frankie could. You re
part of this pack now, equal. You can do what you want, when you
want to.
 Except feed properly, Jay muttered.
Jay, come on, you know why.
What I know is that when I asked, you freaked out.
No, I didn t, Frankie gasped.
Bullshit, Frankie, I could feel it. You still think I m like them.
No, I don t, Jay. I think that you still think that you re like them.
Jay s fingers clenched round his mug, and it shattered suddenly,
coffee and porcelain spreading over the table. Jay hissed, pulling his
hand back. The scent of blood sparked his hunger, and Frankie took
Jay s hand, gently licking the cuts across his fingers, shivering at the
sweet flavor of his mate s blood.
I m sorry, Jay, he whispered. I don t understand why you don t
act the way I was taught that rogues always do, but you still think that
that s the way you should be, and it s not.
 Right, whatever.
He s right, Ty. Why the hell isn t he acting like rogues always
do? Matt asked with a frown.
I don t know, Tyler said with a sigh. The only explanation I
can come up with at the moment is that maybe it s because he s mated
with Frankie.
 Sounds possible.
What do you mean, act like rogues always do? Jay asked.
 Nuts, Matt said bluntly.
 Matthias, please, Tyler snapped.
What? They are, Matt said huffily.
 Chéri, Johnny sighed.
 All right. Sorry.
So, Jay started slowly. We they re always he paused and
glanced at Matt nuts?
Never met one that wasn t. Tyler sighed.

 But, but I m not, Jay whispered. I wasn t. I never was& I just
did whatever I had to in order to survive. [ Pobierz całość w formacie PDF ]
